What stats have done for me.

Keeping thses stats are great. It shows where I need the work.

But the one thing I didnt count on is how it makes me enjoy the game more.

By this I mean: that by knowing my handicap I dont get as frustrated with bad shots especially if I havent done the work to improve.

By knowing that most golfers rarely play to their handicap (usually a few strokes worse)I dont have unreal expectations of myself. I can play the game and enjoy it knowing the real score I need to try and beat.

Dont get me wrong……I want to lower my handicap but I havent had the time to work on my game  but im still able to enjoy my once a week rounds knowing what I need to shoot realistically.

Does this make any sense to anyone?

Yes it does, very much so. I look at my stats all the time, where I need to correct things to shoot a better score and everything.

Paying attention to my stats confirmed something that I already knew… that when my short game was better, my scores were better.  The chips may not be glamourous, but they help me save par!

Absolutely I love this site, stats are so good to keep track of if you are serious about improving your game.  I just started playing golf 7 months ago.  My first 18 I shot 126 and vowed to get better.  I just shot an 87 last week and my scores are consistently in the high 80's low 90's.  I just reconfigured my grip for more fundamental driver technique, and now am bombing 280+ with a draw no problem.  I just need to work on putting, and thats one thing this site has shown me, my putts need to get better!
