I was never the greatest at stats, but I'm curious how Hole Avg/Par and Post Birdie Avg are computed… I think I know, but I'd like to be sure.

The Hole Avg/Par is just your average score relative to par. Birdie = -1, Par = 0, and so forth.
The Post Birdie Avg is similar except it only counts a hole if it follows a birdie hole. can also be refered to as your pbf avg.
let me know if you need more details, I can be known to not give a lot.

When I look at my handicap it sits at 3.84. However, the highest score that is being used in the calculation is +4 over par. I have a lot of them that are under par and even par. It just seems like it isn't calculating correct. What do you think? Am I missing something?

Looking at your scores it appears to be related to the difficulty of the courses. The averge slope is 113 and avg rating is 70, most of your courses are below that. Since they are rated easier your hcp will be a little higher.
You can go here and double check. Let me know if there is a difference.

Thanks. I figured it had to deal with the slopes/rating. I just wish there were more difficult courses here then. I will double check with the site you refereced as well. If it comes back differntly i will let you know.

FYI, I used the link you proved and entered all my scores along with slope/rating and my handicap came out to a 3.5 index. That is close to what your site comes too. I believe you calculate it out as a 3.83.
Just thought you would like to know. Not sure why the difference but I still love the site. Keep up the great work.

Thats pretty close. The difference is probably coming from rounding, they may be rounding off more digits.
