I picked up Ben Hogans book called “Five Lessons” the other day and I have to say its the best golf instruction book I have ever read. I have been playing and studying golf for four years and figured this book was so old that it would be outdated and there would be nothing in it I havent already read so I avoided getting it. I WAS WRONG.
I have been struggeling with my irons all year and have been depending on my short game too much. I decided to get the book to see what the “greatest ball striker of all time” had to teach.
I read the book and went to the range. Using his set up instructions I was hitting the best iron shots I have ever hit! I didnt want to leave the range. I thought about calling in to work and playing 18. I couldnt believe how well I was striking the ball. One simple change I have been looking for all year made that much difference. The book was published in 1957 and is still around if that tells you anything about it.
As you can tell I think its a great book and I would recommend it to anyone at any level.
